What we can help you think through

Video advisory sessions work well wherever the value lies in explanation, reassurance, preparation, and direction rather than in hands-on examination. Parents most often come to us about feeding and the early newborn weeks, where questions about latch, supply, reflux, colic, and settling are common and rarely resolved in a ten-minute appointment. Sleep is another frequent theme, as are the ordinary anxieties of growth and development — whether a milestone is genuinely delayed, what your home weight measurements actually mean, and when a wait-and-see approach stops being reasonable.

We also spend a great deal of time helping families navigate systems rather than symptoms. Parents arrive with a letter they don't understand, a referral they don't know how to chase, a suspected neurodevelopmental concern and no idea which door to knock on, or a specialist appointment next week and a list of questions they are afraid they will forget to ask. Helping you prepare for that appointment, and helping you understand what you were told afterwards, is often the most useful hour we can give you.

Finally, we offer a considered second perspective. If you have been given advice you don't fully understand, or you simply want to talk a plan through with an independent paediatric doctor before you commit to it, that is a legitimate and common reason to book.

If you are not sure whether your concern suits an advisory session, book anyway. Telling you that you need something other than us is part of the job, and we will say so within the first few minutes rather than at the end.

Honest telehealth means being as clear about the limits as about the offer. Please read this section before booking.

Baby Clinic is an advisory and educational service. It is not a substitute for registered medical care, and specifically:

We do not diagnose. We can explain what a set of symptoms commonly indicates and what a clinician will be looking for. We cannot make a formal diagnosis remotely, and nothing said in a session should be recorded or relied upon as one.

We do not prescribe. No medication, of any kind, is issued through this service. If you need a prescription, you need a licensed prescriber in your own country of residence.

We do not provide vaccinations, physical examinations, or any in-person clinical procedure. Baby Clinic has no premises and no clinical facility. Anything requiring a hand on your child requires a local clinic.

We do not issue sick notes, fitness-to-fly letters, medical reports, or any documentation intended for a school, employer, insurer, airline, or court.

We do not replace your child's regular doctor, and we will always encourage you to keep them informed. With your permission we are glad to write a summary you can pass on.

How a consultation works

The whole visit happens by secure video, from wherever you and your child are.

1

Book a time

Choose a slotand tell us briefly what you'd like to discuss. Evening appointments are available.

2

Meet on video

Get a written plan

After the call you receive a clear written summary: what was discussed, what to do next,

What video consultations are for — and what they're not

Telehealth consultancy  done honestly means being clear about both. Some things are well suited to a video call;

Telehealth consultancy is not for emergencies. If your child is struggling to breathe, unresponsive, having a seizure, severely dehydrated, or you are seriously worried, do not wait for an appointment — call 998 for an ambulance (or 999), or go to your nearest emergency department.

How it works

  1. Book online — choose a time that suits you.
  2. Join securely — you'll receive a private video link; no app download required.
  3. Meet  — an unhurried consultation, with time for your questions.
  4. Get a clear plan — a written summary

  1. Follow up — book a review whenever you need one.

Care navigation and cost advisor

Families managing healthcare across two countries face a particular kind of difficulty. The care itself may be perfectly good, but it arrives inside an administrative structure that assumes local knowledge — a network the family cannot interpret, a co-insurance percentage nobody has explained, an approval process with a step that must be completed before rather than after treatment, a bill that may or may not be correct. Adult children abroad are often making decisions at a distance, on partial information, in a system whose rules they have never been taught.

Our family advisory work addresses that gap. It is administrative and educational, and it is deliberately kept separate from clinical decision-making, which belongs with the treating team.

What the work covers

Coverage and policy analysis. A written assessment of what a policy provides, where its limits sit, which services fall inside and outside the network, and what the co-insurance and approval requirements mean in practice.

Billing and claims review. Examination of an invoice or a denied claim against the policy terms and applicable tariff, with a written note of the discrepancies identified and the grounds available for appeal.

System navigation. Mapping a family's situation to the appropriate part of the health system: which type of facility, which category of practitioner, what the referral route is, and what sequence the steps must follow.

Appointment preparation and debrief. Helping a family arrive at a consultation with an organised account of the history and a written list of questions, and helping them understand the letter that follows.

Language support. Explanation of policy documents, correspondence and administrative processes in Hindi where that is the family's working language.

About baby clinic

Advisory services for healthcare organisations

Clinical services are frequently designed by people who will never use them and documented by people who have never delivered them. The result is a service specification that reads well and works badly, or a policy set that satisfies an inspector without changing anything on the floor. Our organisational work is intended to close that distance, bringing frontline clinical experience together with formal training in healthcare management.

What the work covers

Service design and health planning. Feasibility assessment, care pathway design, patient flow modelling, and specification of new or reconfigured services.

Clinical governance documentation. Policies, standard operating procedures, escalation frameworks and audit structures, written to be usable rather than merely compliant.

Regulatory and accreditation preparation. Structured readiness work ahead of inspection, including gap analysis against applicable standards and remediation planning.

Digital health advisory. Clinical input into product design, documentation systems, and clinical safety considerations for health technology.

Written and educational content. Clinical content development, patient-facing materials, and educational resources.

Engagements are

Most of the difficulty families encounter is vocabulary. Pre-authorisation, deductible, co-insurance, network, tariff, referral, discharge summary — each is a simple idea wearing a complicated word, and each is a point at which a family can lose money or lose time. This library explains those terms in ordinary language, in English and in Hindi.

The resources are free, they require no registration, and they are general information rather than advice about any individual's circumstances.

About the practice

Baby Clinic L.L.C-FZ is a health management consultancy registered in the Meydan Free Zone, Dubai, under trade licence 2644956.01. The practice was founded by Dr Eshita Upadhyay.

Dr Upadhyay is a paediatric doctor of Paediatrics and Child Health, an MBA in healthcare management, and a postgraduate certificate in medical education. She is registered with the General Medical Council. Alongside clinical training she has worked as a digital health fellow and as an associate principal investigator on clinical research, and has published in the peer-reviewed literature.

The consultancy grew out of a straightforward observation made repeatedly on both sides of that experience: that families frequently receive competent clinical care while being defeated by everything arranged around it, and that the people best placed to explain the arrangement are those who have worked inside it.
